Thursday November 15th 2007: Cornwall Cup 2nd Round - Launceston 1-3 Penzance

Penzance moved into the Cornwall Cup quarter-finals with a 3-1 midweek win at Launceston. Rose Knuckey netted twice and Becky Hall the third, after the hosts had worked hard to force a free-kick equaliser against a below-par Magpies side.

Knuckey gave the Magpies a half-time advantage, volleying home a cross, but the hosts hit back to level from a free-kick, early in the second-half.
Knuckey restored the lead, rolling the ball home to finish a move in which Julie Lawrence, Katie Barker, Dani Small and Claire Boyd were all involved. Becky Hall made sure of the win, when from 30 yards out, she cut inside and fired into the bottom corner.
Coach Christian Lett commented: "It was a below-par performance but credit to Launceston. They made it difficult for us, got people behind the ball and worked very hard. But Rose Knuckey was fantastic and had a very good game."

Penzance: Williams, - Britten (Rudlin), Hurworth, B.Lawrence, Bateman (Dawe), - Small, J.Lawrence, Boyd (Whittaker), Barker, - Knuckey, Hall.
