Magpies hold Plymouth
Sunday August 19th 2007: Friendly - Plymouth Argyle 3-3 Penzance

Penzance took on South West Combination runners-up, Plymouth Argyle, at the Bodmin Dragons Centre and retrieved a two-goal deficit for a very creditable 3-3 draw.
The omens were not good as the Magpies lost Katie Barker inside two minutes, after her shoulder popped out and in again, with ligament damage diagnosed at hospital. Sarah Mansfield made her debut, taking her place.
Argyle went ahead when stand-in keeper, Candice Britten, could only palm a shot into the net. It was 2-0 after Julie Lawrence conceded a free-kick for handball, Dani Small having attempted to clear against the wind.
Becky Hall reduced the arrears before the break, from a through ball, as the keeper fumbled the shot.

Midway through the second-half, Plymouth went 3-1 up, finding the far corner from distance. But almost form the restart, Penzance won a free-kick 20 yards out and Boyd's strike was too hot for the keeper to handle.
Pressing for an equaliser and after a few shots on the Argyle goal, Boyd hit the goal of the game from the edge of the box on 85 minutes, for a 3-3 tie.

Penzance play Saltash United on Thursday August 26th at Kimberley Stadium (7.30pm), then complete their friendlies this Sunday, at home to Somerset League runners-up, Bishops Lydeard.
